Investment Rationale

This building was previously an office for the Methodist Church and sits in a quiet yet convenient location in Yau Ma Tei adjacent to exit A2 of the Yau Ma Tei MTR station and next to many landmark areas on Kowloon side.
With Yau Me Tei being one of Hong Kong’s most popular tourist areas we saw this building as a conversion target from office to hotel.
The building was stripped to its core and repositioned almost as a new build with a new lift, all new building services, installation of a curtain wall and a complete subdivision of the office floors to hotel rooms.
The hotel was given a name and rebranded as Tribute Hotels to pay tribute to the area of Yau Ma Tei and the city of Hong Kong.
We worked with local artists, craftsmen, designers and entrepreneurs to not only show case the talent in Hong Kong but also to create a definite DNA for the hotel.

About

Built on a vision of simplicity and authenticity, Tribute Hotels aims to become the go-to choice for young, hip, discerning travelers in Hong Kong seeking an experience outside of the typical hotel stay.
At Tribute, it’s back to basics: stripped of superfluous bells and whistles, our hotel is designed with simple comfort and luxury in mind, providing the traveler a much desired home away from home. Our name is derived from our mission to pay “tribute” to the community through various ways such as sourcing local produce and highlighting the work of local artists and designers. We aim to create a sense of place for our guests – a unique vantage point to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the city.
Tribute Hong Kong is located in the historic Yau Ma Tei neighborhood and is slated to open in late 2016.
