HONG KONG, 7 MARCH 2016

Spring 2016 will see the launch of a new commercial and retail strip, Warehouses On West. Located in Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong, the 9 ground floor warehouses has been innovatively repurposed to become a new location for art, creativity, expression and business.

Warehouses On West is an alternative to the ordinary retail and office space with its unique, three floor layout, 6.1m ceiling height on the ground floor, and a dedicated space for pop-up events called The Warehouse. Local Hong Kong developer District15 originally came to the area when, 5 years ago, they bought one of the warehouses to use as their office. At the time these warehouses used to be a mixture of bike repair shops, coffee go downs and seafood stores:

“Having used one of the warehouses as our office we realized how great these spaces would be for restaurants, art galleries and other offices” said Dinesh Nihalchand, one of the co-founders of District15.

So over a 5 year period, the firm consolidated all the adjacent shops to create Warehouses On West.

“We have seen Hong Kong change over the last 10 years and there have been little neighbourhoods opening up all over Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and we want Warehouses On West to be one of those new mini-neighbourhoods” says Alex Bent, the other co-founder of District15.

Warehouses On West sits conveniently in Sai Ying Pun – located 3 minutes away from the Sai Ying Pun MTR Exit B3 that is slated to open in the next few weeks.

Warehouses On West is made up of the following Warehouses:
